Bakuchiol Vitamin C

Bakuchiol Vitamin C

|Gifted| There is nothing better than one of your favourite skincare brands launching a new product, especially when it is as good as Kri Skincare's latest release…

When Rupa, the founder of Kri Skincare, told me that she was launching a Vitamin C serum, I was excited to say the least. Vitamin C is an antioxidant which helps to protect cells from free radical damage caused by UV exposure, slowing down Melanin production to help lighten hyper pigmentation and dark spots. Other benefits of Vitamin C also include boosting radiance and protecting against premature aging caused by environmental pollutants. It is this reason that I have been wanting to incorporate Vitamin C into my routine for a while yet with so many options and confusing information regarding Vitamin C stability, I haven't been bold enough to try it out.

Kri Skincare's Vitamin C + Bakuchiol features 10% THDA (Tetrahexyldecyl Absorbate) which is completely stable, meaning that it won't degrade when it comes into contact with air or light sources, something which occurs in L-Ascorbic Acid used in many Vitamin C serums on the market. As well as Vitamin C, Kri Skincare have also added their 1% Bakuchiol Oil, a natural alternative to Retinol, which I have been loving as a stand-alone product since trying it out last year. Just when you think the serum couldn't get any better, there is also watermelon and raspberry seed oil in the mix to give the serum its nourishing benefits that also aid blemish-prone and oily skin types too.

Vitamin C + Bakuchiol is formulated with all skin types in mind as both THDA and Bakuchiol is much kinder to the skin than L-Ascorbic Acid and Retinol, meaning that even the most sensitive skin can reap the benefits of both Vitamin C and A without irritation or redness. The oil can be used in two ways within your AM routine, either directly to the skin after water-based serums or as a booster within your usual moisturiser, seamlessly slotting in to your morning skincare ritual. Vitamin C + Bakuchiol is scent-free, like many of Kri Skincare products, with only the subtle aroma of the natural ingredients coming through during application.

When I first started using Kri Skincare's Vitamin C + Bakuchiol I didn't really know what to expect. I'd had such great results from the Bakuchiol on it's own that I didn't expect to see a huge difference, especially on a short term basis. I began applying the oil just to my forehead, as I wanted to be able to monitor any changes, and this is where I am starting to notice some fine lines forming. The texture was lovely and lightweight, with just a few drops spreading across the skin with ease and absorbing quickly, leaving behind no greasy residue. My skin felt nicely moisturised and sat well with my usual skincare products. After three days of use, I was already starting to feel the difference in my skin as it was softer to the touch and didn't feel flaky or dry throughout the day. I hadn't experienced any redness of irritation and I was certainly loving the short term results. After around two weeks, my skin was looking more radiant, feeling nourished and was certainly smoother. My fine lines were certainly less noticeable, especially the slightly deeper line on my forehead which looked softer and almost blurred. By now, I was using this on my whole face and my skin was reaping all the skin-loving benefits this oil had to offer.

It has been just over 6 weeks of constant use and what an incredible product Kri Skincare's Vitamin C + Bakuchiol truly is! It has made my very dry skin feel soft, smooth and remain flake-free all day for the past 6 weeks. My skin has looked and felt happier, despite the seasonal change, and all my other skincare products appear to be working well alongside it. I feel like my skin is more radiant, the moisture levels have improved, my fine lines are certainly less noticeable and the texture of my skin has changed dramatically. I have always said that Kri Skincare products work wonders, yet I don't think i've used a product that has made such a difference on a short term basis.

If you are looking to incorporate Vitamin C and A within your skincare routine then look no further than Kri Skincare's Vitamin C + Bakuchiol. It has truly made a difference to my skincare routine and has become a product I wouldn't want to live without.
